Lots of fans pack pelota courts to enjoy Basque pelota, also known as jai alai. It is probably the most famous Basque sport in the world.
Depending on the game manner and the pelota court, there are different modalities and specialities. Pelota playing is possible individually or by pairs.
Some modalities of pelota are bare hand pelota, basket pelota, or wooden bat pelota.
On the other hand, pelota courts are an important element in the typical Basque landscape, since there are a huge number of them along the whole Basque Country. As a proof of its international fame, the Basque pelota (jai alai) is very practised in America.
